Cavan County Council Presentation

Image
Our Green Schools Committee was delighted to welcome a representative from Cavan County Council, who visited to recognise the students’ hard work in our Green School Flag. The students proudly shared their efforts in promoting sustainability across the school, from recycling initiatives to energy conservation. The Council praised their commitment and highlighted the positive impact of their work on the wider community. We are very proud of our committee members for this fantastic achievement and grateful for the encouragement shown during the visit.

Litter & Waste Workshop

Image
Mrs Hyland visited each classroom to deliver an engaging and hands-on Litter and Waste Workshop! 🌍♻️ The focus was on understanding the difference between general waste, recycling, and food waste , and why it’s so important to sort our rubbish correctly to help protect our environment. Each class was given a bag of mixed rubbish and worked together to decide which bin each item belonged in. There were some great discussions as pupils carefully examined packaging, leftovers, and everyday items before choosing the correct bin. 🗑️ It was fantastic to see such thoughtful teamwork and enthusiasm. Our children are becoming true eco-champions, learning small actions that make a big difference! 🌱 Well done everyone for taking part and showing such a positive attitude towards caring for our planet!
